

The two-loop swim took place in beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene. Athletes kicked off their full-distance IRONMAN triathlon journey with a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run through Coeur d’Alene and the surrounding areas.

The 2023 IRONMAN Coeur d’Alene triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series, saw over 1,000 athletes start the race ranging in age from 18-76 years old. Top five professional women’s race results: Top five professional men’s race results: Haley Chura (USA), who led for the first seven hours of the race before being passed by Robertson, finished in second place with a time of 9:17:29 while Melanie McQuaid (CAN) secured third place with a time of 9:22:03. Rounding out the podium in third was Justin Metzler (USA) with a time of 8:23:29. With some of triathlon’s best on hand, Chris Leiferman (USA) won the men’s professional race with a finishing time of 08:06:42, while Jodie Robertson (USA) topped the podium in the women’s professional race with a time of 09:07:31.
